Ride The Shadows (2006)

House of Dreams
All the time that you spent waiting
Hoping I might just come though
And the light that you’ve been shading so long
Baiting traps along the route

Then upon my non-arrival
You slumped down beside the deep
Twisted piles of driftwood strewn for miles
Where your doom and your dream states meet

And every wave rolls in to break your heart
You were a consummate misery from the start
Dark and dangerous, an abandoned mine
Or a house of dreams on a deep fault line

When I climbed up from that canyon
Where the sun can’t touch the stone
I knew the truth, you hold distain for youth
Cause you never lived one of your own

But I find it very hard now
To sympathize with all your pain
Your tiny mind’s a feeble axe you grind
But it cuts so deep into the grain

Cause every wave rolls in to break your heart
A consummate victim from the start
There’s only cautious comfort and fearful minds
In a house of dreams on a deep fault line
