09/15/2009 - Charity event for the Mile End Mission
Rob recently played two British folk songs in a charity event for the Mile End Mission. Well, they had to be from the British Isles. Rob's choices: the Waterboys When ye go away and Richard Thompson's By Devonside.

08/07/2009 - New Shows
Rob is getting ready to join Austin songwriter David Lutes for a couple Quebec shows. David and Rob are related by their ancestors who were brothers when they came to the U.S. in the 1700s.

The Montreal date will be at the Centre St-Ambroise on Saturday, Sept. 5. A Quebec City date is in the works. E-mail me for ticket info for either show.

08/07/2009 - Live video from the Montreal Jazz Fest.
 
A friend of mine, author and filmmaker Dave Widgington, took some video of Rob with Rob MacDonald at the festival. Two tunes from the 20s and 30s that they like to throw in the sets from time to time. You can find it here.



08/07/2009 - Truth and Fiction Top Ten
Truth and Fiction made the Top Ten in July on CBC's Galaxy Folk/Roots Chart. The album continues to get solid airplay in the US and was also selected for CIMS (Coalition of Independent Music Stores) listening post for July. This is a group of more than 80 stores in the US that features the best in independent music.



06/02/2009 - In Studio with Espace Musique's Dan Behrman
Rob and Rob MacDonald were live in Studio with Espace Musique's Dan Behrman on Friday, May 29. The show, which runs nationally on the French network of the CBC, is all about the blues (and roots). Dan's a fantastic host and a Friday night ritual in many homes across Canada.

You can listen to Rob's hour with Dan (and a bunch of live songs) here. Rob's segment runs roughly from 1:30 to 2:30.


04/14/2009 - Truth & Fiction gets North American distribution
Already out in Europe on CRS, Truth & Fiction goes into wide distribution in Canada through Outside Music on April 14th. The CD will be released in the U.S. in May through Megaforce/MRI Distribution.

04/10/2009 - Live on Espace Musique, May 29
On Friday, May 29th, Rob will be live in studio (with Rob MacDonald) on Dan Behrman’s widely acclaimed roots show on the national French network of the CBC. The show is on from 8-11 PM on Friday nights.

I Know a Girl from Truth & Fiction is the third track on a new UK Americana compilation entitled “Now that’s Americana OK!”. Rob will tour in the UK in October 09.
